How can counselling help

Are you waking up during the night with racing thoughts, feeling overwhelmed or stressed about the day ahead? Does it feel like a weight is constantly on your shoulders? Or perhaps you're withdrawing from social interactions. Together, we can explore these feelings in a calm, confidential space.

We all need to feel heard accepted and understood, but often life's challanges can make this difficult. Even with supportive friends and family, opening up about our true feelings can be hard out of concern for upsetting or burdening those we love.

Whether you're dealing with concerns about the future, grief, pet bereavement, work or health issues, depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, I am here to support you. Please know that you're not alone. As a warm, compassionate counsellor, I will walk with you through the challenges that brought you here.

What to expect in Our Counselling Sessions

Asking for help isn't easy, For years, I believed that the best way to handle life's challenges was to "bottle them up," hoping they would eventually fade away. But in reality, this only led to issues with anxiety, low mood, frustration, and sometimes even panic, Does this sound familiar?

Just as it did for me, counselling could be the key to helping you understand the root cause of your feelings and address their impact once and for all. Starting counselling can feel daunting, but I am here to create a safe, welcoming , and supportive environment for you. Here's what you can expect during our sessions:

First Session Overview

In our first session, we'll begin by discussing our working contract. This contract sets out our mutual commitments, ensuring we build a safe, confidential foundation for our work together.  I'll ask a few general questions such as your address and GP details, as well as some questions about your experiences over the last few weeks. This initial information will help us understand the reasons that brought you to counselling and clarify what you'd like to focus on during our time together.

Ongoing Sessions

Our sessions are open-ended, meaning they can adapt to your pace and needs. In each session, we'll review your progress and changes in your circumstances, making sure our work together remains relevant and effective. You'll have the oppertunity to share your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental environment, and together we'll explore the challenges you're facing. My goal is to support you in achieving your personal goals and fostering a sense of well-being.

Your Journey

If you're ready to begin your counselling journey, please contact me for a confidential consultation. Together, we can work toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
